WOW! Children’s Museum hosts a variety of art, science, dramatic play, and practical life exhibits designed for children ages 0-8 years. Many of our exhibits are created in-house by staff members, volunteers, and collaborators. WOW! believes in employing the talents and skills of our community to design creative environments that engage children and families in unique learning experiences.
Town Square
Our town square is the perfect place for role play to take center stage. From our kid's clinic to our tinker shop, bank, and market, each area has plenty of themed, hands-on play opportunities where imagination can run wild.

Credit Union
Practice money recognition, counting, basic math skills, and learn about saving and spending at the Credit Union. Pretend to be a bank teller or a customer to make deposits and withdrawals through the drive-up window. Sponsored by Elevations Credit Union.
Fill your basket and head to checkout! Play shopkeeper or customer, ringing up groceries and making change on our old-fashioned cash register. Market sponsored by a former member family.

While this may seem like just a fun way to pull a bubble around yourself, young explorers are also learning about surface tension and experimentation as they try to fund the right speed to pull the handle so the bubble gets all the way up to their heads before it pops.
Walking by when WOW! is closed? Check out the beautiful native pollinator garden planted on the north side of the building. Or stop and enjoy a meal at our accessible picnic table. Don’t forget to check out our vibrant mural and whimsical sculptures throughout the outdoor space as well!
Create Space
A place to allow creativity to soar while also allowing social-emotional learning to happen. Young artists can create their own masterpieces or engage with two prompts devoted to kindness and empathy as we explore the creative side of social-emotional learning. Our art gallery wall and donations of art for our local Meals on Wheels program give budding artists the chance to share their creations with the world.
Step into our fenced-in garden exhibit for a breath of fresh air. This space has a mud kitchen for cooking up all sorts of fun, container gardens to observe plants growing and bugs working, and plenty of musical sculptures to enjoy. There are picnic tables and benches to eat a snack or take a break, and whimsical art to enjoy as well!
Designed as a sensory friendly space, this exhibit provides plenty of opportunities to explore the senses with tactile experiences that can calm the mind. While you’re in there, check out the tree trunk hidey-hole for hidden surprises and stories inside. Sponsored by April Porterfield.
Pull into the Imagination Station (visit this cozy nook) to relax, watch the fish swim by, read a book, or play with puppets. This area is designed for calmer moments and is where our story times take place!
Ready, Set, Go! From our timed mountain racetrack to the hands-on bike pedals to the train table, each area is designed to explore early math and physics concepts and get children’s bodies – and brains – moving!
This space is designed for our youngest visitors to explore their world in a safe, fun environment. Everything in Micro U is designed for little bodies (infant to age 3) to practice their gross and fine motor skills, as well as engaging their innate sense of wonder through busy boards, textural components, and delightful visually stimulating materials.
Let your imagination set sail on our flagship exhibit! Little explorers can use their gross motor skills to climb the ramp and raise and lower the flags. Knot tying practice and a scavenger hunt will keep their minds sharp, too! Under the ship are more opportunities for gross motor and sensory play, and a fun peek at the fish tank! Ahoy!
